RevitalizedOh finally..I got my time to blog about so much activities that have taken place over the past 2 weeks..From Hong Kong trip to Church camp..I am just enjoying this 2 really great experience with my friends...The Hong Kong trip was a bit rush to me...we hardly got any sleep throughout the whole 5 days..I just wish the activities could be more spread out over...and thanks to having an in charge who is not very good at looking after a group of students..we were simply left to explore the unknown place by our own...
Hong Kong 1st Day-Monday
On the previous day, i just completed my standard chartered marathon in a time of 6 hours 29 mins...haha...i was expecting 7 hours...so it was pretty good run and walk for me...My leg was in a pretty bad condition that day after the race...After getting abit rest, i head over to lilin's house because on the next day, it's easier for us to get a cab to the airport. In the morning, we got up early to hail a cab to the airport together with tiwi and raymond...my leg was super chui at that time...I really wonder how i can end up the whole trip still walking...haha..We met up with the rest of the 16 schoolmates and board the plane to Hong Kong...On the plane, i managed to watch the movie Fred Claus...it was a pretty nice show to entertain me throughout the journey. Once we reach the Hong Kong International Airport, we took a chartered bus to Ibis Hotel at North Point...The weather ws pretty cooling...same as the taiwan trip i went with my campmates few years ago..Our hotel was very near the MTR stations..we spent alot of time checking into the hotel thansk to the GREAT GUIDANCE of our lecturer in charge..We were basically at diferent levels.. Raymond and I managed to got into the bigger handicap room at 29th floor...The room was petty cosy...would be better if there is sea views and bigger bed...haha
After checking in we head down to explore the surroundings and have our late lunch...In the end we got into a shop selling wantan noodles at S$2..the noodles was ok but the dumpling was big and delicious...After lunch, we head back to hotel to rest a while for the trip to the Peak..In the evening, we went to wan chai for dinner...the there is someone that stick onto us...In the end, we went into a store selling super nice sze chaun spicy noodle...I odered the super spicy one...The spiciness is different from the normal chili we had, it was the those chili that makes u numb rather than sweat...but it was pretty shiok eating that...
After dinner, we met up with the rest at the central station..We took a bus to the peak tram station..before taking a tram up to the peak...the journey up was pretty fun...because we were literally like at 45 degrees up slope...The peak was awesome...with picturesque scenery of the entire Hong Kong...he cold wind was damn shiok too...we took alot of photos and i really enjoy the gush of cold wind when we head out the railing...It was quite hard to take a good night photos without a tripod...but i managed to get just a few of it...When we head down the peak, we took a tram back to the hotel...Before sleeping, we had dessert at the nearby store..I really like the Mango Beancurd...The mango was really sweet and the combination with the smooth beancurd was perfect...
Hong Kong 2nd Day-Tuesday
The previous night we slept pretty late and got to wake up quite early to catch the ferry to Macau..Witht the GREAT GUIDANCE of our in charge..we went to Kowloon station and walk 20-30minutes to the ferry terminal..The jewellery students got up abit late..but our incharge didn't really went to look for them and kept telling them to go over to the kowloon station where he will wait ...In the end, he didn't wait and came to the ferry terminal leaving the 2 person stranded all by themselve in Hong Kong Island...To me, i think the in charge should have been have been more reponsible to carry out his duty as a guidance and look after each and every one of us...If something bad happened to them, how is he suppose to make up to the parents..At Macau we hired a bus/guide to help us tour around Macau...I was actually excited about the Bungee jump at the Macau tower but it was ay to expensive to get this experience..but we still went up to take pictures and see other people jump...Looking at them jump is already very exhilarating..i can't imagine what i would feel if i were to jump...Nvm...i will come back next time when i tour around the world to conquer this leap of death....=)
At night, we went to stanley market by bus to find out that it opened till 8pm only...so we had to make a long bus trip back...we took the mini bus back to get the different transport experience...For the mini bus, there is a main destination but we have to tell the bus driver whee we will be alighting...but becasue our cantonese was pretty chui...so we just try to keep a lookout at the signboards...and ait for people to alight and we alight together with them...we stop at cause way bay and had our very late dinner there...lucky for us...the restaurants at causeway bay close quite late...When we went back to the hotel, we had dessert as supper again...
Hong Kong 3rd Day-Wednesday
We went over to the PolyUniversity at Hung Hom Station...The cross over to the the station was very long..compared the cross over at douby gaut station..Two of the year 2 students brought us around the campus to see the different studios and facilities they had...The studios were really arty and creative....they were allowed to draw graffiti on the studio wall...and mess up the whole place...haha..
After the tour, we went to over to central where we had our architectural walk to introduce us the the different buildings around central...The guide Lisa was really nice and patient..unlike our GREAT GUIDIANCE...I think respect is gain through good virtues...At the middle of the walk, Evi lost her camera...i can see tha she was pretty panic and sad....so i volunteer to accompany her back to find her camera...lucky the camera she left is inside the place where we rest...After that, we head back...trying to find where the rest are...we were told to see the China Bank and make a right turn..but we didn't see him anywhere...Then he told evi in a harsh tone through the phone that he on the right...then i managed to saw him...he was standing still over there like a statue...If he really saw us..he should have just shout out to us...and not make us kept walking in the wrong direction...Is his voice so soft that he needs to use the phone to tell us?? Actually he should be the one who accompany evi back to search for the phone and not me...Isn't that his duty? This shows how faint-hearted he is at bringing us to Hong Kong..At night, we met up with Raymond's relative who show us around, had dinner and went to KTV...It was really fun...
Hoong Kong 4th Day-Thursday
It's the opening of the Buisiness Of Design Week 2008...We went over to listen to design related talks which i think is an eye opener...some of the speakers were really great and interesting to listen to...At the Conference Hall, the rest of the lecturers like Sabrina Long, Eileen's beloved Jerry, David Tan...meatball were there for the conference too...The whole day was enriching but tiring as well due to all the late nightsand lack of sleep...Dinner was great with the accompany of friend at Happy Valley..Too bad we can't spot any celebrities...
Hong Kong 5th Day- Friday
It's the second day of the conference..We sat through the whole day of conference..At lunch we went out earlier forour lunch at The Sweets situated not far from the conference venue...we heard that the food that was very nice and indeed it was...I love the dessert at th end especially...it was superb...At night, we head over to causeway bay to do our last minute shopping which we didn't do over the past few days...haha...been eating and sight-seeing alot the previous few days...I really can't figure out how they gave the discount in there mall...it's so confusing anf can be use form shop to shop...In the end we save quite alot and are happy with our findings...At night, Derrick, Samuel, Raymond and I, the 4 guys went out for our Men's night at the pub near our hotel...after that we walk around North Point and settle at a eating place before heading back to the hotel around 4am...
Hong Kong 6th Day- Saturday
We woke up at 11pm and checked out at 1130m..leaving our luggage at the lobby, we went over to the famous egg tart store at central and bought egg tarts and lao po bing. It's not difficult to find famous stores because form far ou will see the queue and around the area people will be munching on the egg tarts...and we left the place happy with what we bought...We took a bus back to the airport and head back to singapore...
On the next day, i spent 80% of my time on the bed...i was feeling so lathargic and my body is aching with the run and the walk...Then i realized that the next day i will be accompanying Chun Hoo for his church camp...oh btw i am a freethinker although my family is a buddhist... i just want to take this time and just to understand more about other religion and their culture and away from my studies, family to relax and enjoy...
Church Camp Day 1
I went over to woodland and took a bus to chunhoo's church...It was petty fast...The camp were mainly young children ranging from the age of 11-16...Only a few youth..and a few adult...No wonder chunhoo ask me to accompnay him because he was one of the few older people there...I went through their spiritual retreats learning more about who i am..and played games with other campers...As this was my 1st time, i ws actually pretty nervous on the 1st day...not knowing where to go and what i should do..I just try to help out as a big brother and friend when needed..
Church Camp Day 2
On the second day, i am able to mingle better with the other campers...the children are all very cute and adorable...the way they talk also makes you laugh sometimes...which i think is a great things to have...This is what we all use to have and gradually lost it though time...In the afternoon, we played water games...there was injuries but luckily it was not very serious...There was a camper's night where all the other's parents join in and we did a small skit which was really enjoyable...the night game was pretty fun as well...
Church Camp Day 3
There was nothing much, i seems to made some friends which are so much younger than me...i can feel how enregetic they can be and i was used to be...and i really want to thank them for presenting the best newcomer prize to me...I was just trying to help out chunhoo, the rest of the people and enjoy the whole experience at the same time...hoping to go to other camps like dharma camp which wenhao went...to learn more about buddhism as well...
Tomorrow will be having signals outing, looking orward to it...so long never meet up already...After that i will need to start cracking up my brains to do my find 2 special themes for my 2 proposal for FYP...just less than 3 more weeks left to finish it...Wow...times flies....
